Comments

We do not currently enable comments in either the main website or online course site.

Media

We do not currently allow media upload on the main website or online course site.

Contact forms

We do not currently provide contact forms on the main website.

The course site does collect information via forms to verify course content mastery via a post-course test, an online survey about course experience, and certification information that we are required to maintain in case of audit.

Cookies

If you have an account and you log in to the course site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

We use several plugins on the main site and course website which may also set cookies to enable them to function correctly. You can view our cookies here.

Who we share your data with and how long we retain your data

For students that register on our course site, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. We also store your post-course test results, survey feedback, and certification information, which we are required to provide to certifying bodies in case of audit. Although we allow online payments for courses, we do not store any payment information; all payments are processed via Stripe, which has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. Stripe Privacy Policy.] Our secured web server is hosted by CyberLynk [Privacy Policy], and our data backups are securely transferred and stored on Amazon S3 [Privacy Policy].

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Online payments are processed via Stripe. All course data is stored online in our WordPress database, and additional records may be kept in accordance with our certification reporting requirements. Backups are stored on Amazon S3.

Additional information

How we protect your data

Our site uses SSL/HTTPS to transmit data securely to our server and to our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store payment information on our server, merely transmitting it to Stripe for processing. We follow best practices for maintaining WordPress security, including keeping the site fully updated and running security software which prevents malware and hacking attempts.

What data breach procedures we have in place

If we are notified of a data breach, we will contact impacted users via the email address they provided upon registering.

What third parties we receive data from

When potential students log into midwife.org, and use a members-only link to our online course to register, we know that they are members. We use this information to provide a member discount.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

We do not perform any additional profiling not listed above under member discounts or site traffic analysis.

Industry regulatory disclosure requirements

While Life Cycle Health & Education, LLC does not collect HIPPA-protected information through this website, as a provider of continuing education and in compliance with IACET criteria, we are required to keep some of the information collected during registration (name and license/certification number) for seven years.
